CARE & SAFETY
Candle Care
There are a few tips to ensure you get the best burn from your candle.
When burning your candle for the first time, please burn for 4 hours. This will help prevent tunnelling and create a steady burn all the way to the bottom of the candle.
Trimming your wick is very important. This ensures a steady and efficient burn rate. Prior to re-lighting your candle the wick should be trimmed to 5mm. This can be done by using wick trimmers or pinching the end of the wick between your fingers. A tall flame will burn your candle at a faster rate.
Keep the wax pool free from wick debris or match heads as they can act as a second wick causing your candle to burn faster.
Keeping your wick trimmed will keep soot to a minimum.
For time to time you may need to gently straighten and re-centre the wick before the wax resets, if the wick curls over after extinguishing use a matchstick or something similar to do this.
Never burn for longer than 4 hours; this can cause the vessel to become hot and burn the wax faster.
Do not move your candle when lit.
Keep your candle away from draughts; this can cause irregular burns. Never place your candle near flammable items.
Always burn your candle on a heat resistant surface away from children and animals.
We hope you enjoy your candle as much as we’ve enjoyed making it for you.
WAX MELT Care
All our wax melts are made from 100% coconut and rapeseed wax using high grade fragrance oils.
Remove all packaging and place a wax melt into the well of your burner.
Use an unscented 4 HOUR tea light. NEVER burn for more than 4 hours.
Always burn on a flat heat resistant surface away from children and animals.
Do not attempt to move the burner while in use as it can become hot.
Each melt will give 10-12 hours of scent.
To replace your wax melt light the burner for a minute or two until the well becomes warm and the melt will pop out easily.
The scent will evaporate not the wax.
Diffuser Care
A few tips about your reed diffuser
Reed diffusers are a passive way to scent a room. They diffuse constantly, are long lasting, and due to their low maintenance and flame-free nature can be left un-attended to fragrance any space.
Set up
Place the reeds that come with your reed diffuser into the bottle to absorb the diffuser oil. Let the fragrance oil absorb into the reeds, and naturally diffuse the scent into the room. The fragrance will continue to evaporate into the air around it, creating a constant ambiance.
Maintenance
Aside from flipping the reeds once every few weeks to ensure the reeds do not become over-saturated with fragrance and dust, you don’t need to do anything special to look after your diffuser.
Scent Boost
If you want a quick burst of scent, flip the reeds over. When turning the reeds, take care to protect the surface the diffuser is on; using a paper towel to ensure no liquid is dripped onto the surface or floor, and make sure you wipe the bottom of the vessel before you put it back onto the surface in case any liquid runs down the side of the bottle. If you use your reed diffuser on wooden surfaces, we suggest placing them on a protective surface or a drinks coaster as essential oils and fragrances can leave marks.
Getting the best from your diffuser
There are some extra factors which will affect the longevity of your diffuser, for example, if kept in a warm area the heat will draw the fragrance through the reeds quicker – so perhaps avoid placing above a radiator – and avoid placing the diffuser in direct sunlight as this will damage the scent and cause it to evaporate more quickly.
Draughts and breezes can also cause the diffuser oil to be spread more quickly – so open windows should also be avoided.
Diffusers should be kept on a higher shelf or surface, well out of reach of children and animals.
Take care not to spill a diffuser, as the liquid can cause damage to surfaces – and it should definitely not be ingested.
Now you know how to get the best out of your diffuser, choose your favourite fragrance and enjoy!
